This is a blog about a solar balloon that a friend, Craig, and I are building and launching from Canberra. Craig is an amateur radio guy and is putting together the payload, I am doing the balloon. We plan to track it via APRS. In this blog I will detail the balloon building part of the project.

One morning I went to the Canberra Balloon Festival. Quite by chance I met one of the local pilots, Greg, and we went for a fly. That is how this current interest in ballooning started. After landing we realised that we have many shared interests and now I am crewing and navigating for him. Here are a few photos from that morning.
